Where There’s Polo, There’s Marshmallows
You know the cultural pendulum has truly swung when Jilly Cooper is not only back on our screens—but back in fashion. Polo? Sexy again. And marshmallows? Well, darling… of course we pair them with some daytime wine.
So, when the gorgeous Daou Vineyards, asked us to create a marshmallow pairing for their Sand Polo event we knew this wasn’t the moment to play it safe. The annual Polo on the beach tournament is a social scene showstopper in opulent Sandbanks so this was our moment to saddle up, lean in, and throw down something wildly indulgent, ever-so-slightly eccentric, and unapologetically… ours.

The Red: Dark, Brooding, and Just a Bit Naughty
Paired with Daou's opulent Cabernet Sauvignon, we whipped up a raspberry and black cherry marshmallow, layered with a dark chocolate and lavender ganache and finished with a black olive crunch. Yes, black olive. We wanted that savoury snap, the salty-late-afternoon-in-Provence vibe—to show off the the wine’s rich berries.
The White: Bright, Sunlit, and Practically Flirtatious
For DAOU’s golden Chardonnay, we went fresh and juicy and a bit flouncy. A pear, apple and pineapple marshmallow, topped with a cinnamon almond crunch. This was sunshine in a sweet, the kind of thing you want to eat barefoot on a yacht.
Yes Polo is back. Wine is always in. And marshmallows, especially the kind that pair with Cabernet or Chardonnay, have officially entered their glamorous era. Thank you, DAOU and Thank you, Sandpolo for having us along for the rid(ers)
If you fancy a marshmallow for your next event...holla at us!
