Don't Drink Gin All Day...

This time 6 years ago it was the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. You may remember it… it rained, there were boats. Anyway, to mark the occasion I created my Blueberry & Gin marshmallow for a party. The flavour was whipped up as a celebration of Britishness, nostalgia. A dewy hedgerows and gin- in- teacups- kind of thing ( I’d just moved back from Paris so that didn’t seem so Brexit-ty then) The mallow was lovely, bursting with fruit and a floral note from the gin, I’ve been making it ever since. Anyways, by coincidence, today is not only the Queen’s birthday but it is also World Gin Day. Which makes my Blueberry & Gin marshmallow fabulously current.

Even the Brexit-ty bit….

I love this mallow because of it’s vibrancy in colour yet delicate melt on the palate.

We add a nip of Sipsmith Gin to each batch and lift the flavour using organic juniper. It’s aromatic, rather than sweet, and the fruit pairing softens the alcohol. It’s perfect. In fact, it’s the perfect choice for World Gin Day because- however spirited your intentions are- no one can drink gin ALL day. Not even me, and I have tried. Twice.

We’ll be sharing tasters of our Blueberry & Gin mallows and pairing them with gins at John Lewis stores across the country today- pop over to our events calendar to see if we’re near you. Our marshmallowists will also tell you which cocktails our mallows work best with as side serves and how to create decadent after dinner treats.

So tinkerty tonk old fruit and pour us a large one.
