It should come as no surprise that we’re big fans of afternoon tea here. Whipping up creative new flavours, pairing them with delicate teas, perhaps a little glass of fizz alongside. Not forgetting those tiny sandwiches. So to celebrate afternoon tea week…yup, an entire WEEK. We’ll be embracing the indulgence, elegance and creativity of afternoon tea so here’s my top 3 favourite tea’s you can experience for yourself.
Pret a Port- Tea at the Berkley
Absolute indulgence- this creative tea offers a fresh ‘collection’ each season. And striding onto the cakewalk for Spring/Summer 2023, this season’s Prêt-à-Portea celebrates designers from Kenzo to Moschino. Bold, colourful and extremely treat worthy!
Sanderson Hotel Mad Hatters
I love this one- manages to be themed yet still classy- I’ve had this on two occasions and each time it’s been a thrilling experience. Curious enough to try the Morning Tear Magic Mushroom? Do you dare sip on the Drink Me potion? It’s all served in the covered courtyard garden space and it really does feel like a super modern tumble down the rabbit hole.
My favourite place to have a classic afternoon tea. A super traditional setting but with an enticing assortment of finger sandwiches, cakes and fruit scones accompanied by a choice of teas. A beautiful tea room, a pianist and my go to spot for bringing any visitors to Yorkshire…as well as nabbing a fat rascal to bring home. ( It’s a Yorkshire thing)
And if you fancy the sound of all of that but without the stress of a central London commute or a treck T'Dales...then our Afternoon Teacakes can be delivered direct to your door. We’ve given that classic tradition a unique twist by incorporating all the favourite ‘cake’ elements into our best selling teacakes. Complimented by abstract splatters of hand-painted chocolate, fresh herbs whisked into soft mallow and pretty lil plumps of fruit jams and curds. and that little bit extra? We’ve partnered with our pals at Good and Proper tea to bring you a tea pairing. Each box of teacakes comes with 2 free teabags- earl grey and hibiscus.
