Veganuary Decadence

Veganuary Decadence

Happy New Year! Are you back? We are well and truly back. Christmas is just a slightly hazy memory now. But I finally get the January stuff.  This was my first Christmas off in many many years and I now understand why Dry January is a thing and why Veganuary is so popular because I’M DONE. Normally, I’m still lurking around January with a glass of wine, trying to convince friends to stay and finish off the cheese, but this year… I get it. I’m on the sparkling water and the steamed veg and the long walks and the lists of things I want to achieve.

Our Independent Heroes

Our Independent Heroes

All the bizness who independent throw your hands up at me… Yup, it’s Small Business Saturday today and it’s time to celebrate the little guys; the crafters and grafters, the makers and creators. Let me tell you, we’re here for you. When I stated my own business I stopped being a chocolatiere and had to become everything from an accountant, to a photographer to a HR manager.  I thought I’d introduce you to a couple of our favourite independent stockists- those shops that are almost a daydream of how perfect a shop can be. With their fresh coffee and their ‘ooh look at that’ window merchandising. You might know them already. But just in case you don’t…

My Christmas Gift Guide

My Christmas Gift Guide

It’s Small Business Saturday tomorrow. And it’s nearly Christmas. And, at Christmas, you tell the truth (as Andrew Lincoln in Love Actually so weirdly told us) And the truth is…. Running a small business at Christmas is really bloody hard. The discounting pressures, the last post pressures, the running out of stuff, the underestimating, the overestimating, the not enough time or hands.

Where we’re at this Christmas

Where we’re at this Christmas

This billboard was at the end of my road for most of the summer. And I bloody loved it. It was confident, very bitchy and says so much about the relentless bullshit you have to put up with when you have a concept that other people want a piece of. Oh, and it was funny too. I really haven’t stopped thinking about it. I wish I could be as funny as KFC. Or at least have the confidence to call out poor business practices.

My Mallow Recipe- as seen on TV

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you who Juliet Sear is… She’s the baker and cake maker extraordinaire who also happens to be ITV’s This Morning go- to for all things sweet. And she’s now been given her own TV show!

Tea and chat with Adélaïde Aronio

I’ve collaborated with my friend, the artist Adelaide Aronio to create a limited edition series of one-of a kind boxes for our hot chocolate and toasting kits this Christmas. So, If you’re the sort of person that likes listening in on other people nattering in the pub then draw a bit closer because I recorded our chat just for you…
