5 Party Planning Treats for Malloween

Throwing a spooky celebration this week? We LOVE a Malloween party here as it gives us the perfect excuse to get a bit more creative with our confectionery. To throw a Halloween bash with a grown up edge it’s best to skip the themed and stick to the seasonal. So here are my top tips for sweetening your party with a Marshmallowist treat...

Say hello to Dark Cocoa

Say hello to Dark Cocoa

When I was 13 a family friend bought me a 6-month subscription to a chocolate club. Not one that dispensed Spiras or Wispa Golds. Like a normal 13 year old would have. This was a tasting club for handmade chocolate. Each one crafted with different origin cocoa beans ad bursting with fruit ganache or oozing with rich caramels. When that box of chocolates arrived each month it was the most special I have ever felt- I would eek them out over weeks.

Cheery Designs for Rainy Days

Urgh, I feel like it’s never going to stop raining. It’s just feels damp and wet leafy every day at the moment. Most years I’m quite excited about the weather turning back to schooley but this year feels a bit different. I’m not sure I’m ready for it. I had a beautiful long summer and suddenly everything now feels very serious and gloomy and, well, wet. And it’s probably why I’ve been seeking out some bright pops of colour to flippin well cheer me up.

How To Sell Lots... Without Selling Out.

Last night I shared my experience of running an online business at a ‘Shopify meet up’ event and absolutely loved it. The nice people at Statement Agency got in touch and said they wanted to know how we cope in times of peak trading ( hint- we often don’t) and if we would share our insight with similar small businesses. I wasn't really sure if  I was an 'expert' in this but..well, we’ve had our fair share of absolute meltdowns and I definitely feel I’ve learnt, over the years, what’s right for us and what’s not.

How To Eat Marshmallows

How To Eat Marshmallows

Sometimes our marshmallows confuse people. They’re marshmallows but they’re not pink and white. They’re the same price as a box of posh chocs but, well, they’re marshmallows. Can you even toast them? But what happens if you do and they fall off the stick…eeks! So what the heck is so special about them and why do we bother making them?

Let's support teachers as well as treat them...

Let's support teachers as well as treat them...

Teaching is, quite honestly, one of the hardest yet undervalued and underfunded jobs in this country. I often stare bewilderedly at anyone who goes into teaching wondering what saintly star they fell from. Because if any of us occasionally think our jobs are hard- pffft- we know absolutely nothing. The only reason any of us have the opportunities we have- that I have the confidence and the skills to run my own business- is because we had really great teachers.
